Email Collection Problems - RESOLVED

Posted on: Friday 22 December 2006, 16:16

This is a follow up to the previosly reported issue with E-Mail Collection Problems. A copy of this report can be found here :

We recently sent an E-Mail to a small number of customers informing them that one (or more) of their mailboxes had 'blackholed'. This is where we block messages from being delivered to you.

For the majority of recipients this E-Mail was sent in error, and no action had actually been taken. Unfortunately we encountered a reporting error which incorrectly E-Mailed a small number of customers with this incorrect information. For these customers, E-Mail service would have resumed as normal.

A very small number of customers may also have had an incorrect blackhole applied to their mailbox as well as being E-Mailed. This would have prevented anyone from sending mail to these mailboxes, however, they would have been bounced back to senders. This 'blackholing' of these mailboxes was incorrect, and we have now removed these restrictions from affected customers.

All affected customers should, therefore, be able to send and receive mail to and from their mailboxes without any further issues. However, if you do encounter any problems - please contact our support team via our portal. We have E-Mailed all affected customers with this information.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience or unecessary worry this may have caused.

Kind Regards,

Liam Martin
