This is an update to the previously reported plans to outsource the provisioning of our Usenet service. A copy of the last announcement can be found here:-

Our current Usenet implementation is performing to a satisfactory level, however there are redundancy concerns due to the fact that the service is only operating from a single reader.

As previously announced we are looking to move provision of the service to a third party supplier to improve resiliency and safeguard the future of the platform.

We have now accepted a formal quote and are awaiting financial approval from the supplier. Once this has been confirmed then we will begin planning the technical implementation.

We will provide further details once this plan is in place.
