This is an update to the previously reported problems caused by the recent flooding and periods of sustained rainfall across certain areas of the country. A copy of the last announcement can be seen here:-

Recovery from the effects of the flooding continued rapidly last week. All flood warnings have now been withdrawn by the environment agency, however 14 flood watch alerts remain, 13 of which are in the Thames area and one in the South West.

BT Openreach are still seeing higher than usual levels of faults in the flooded areas and expect this to continue during the next few weeks as the flood waters recede and end users regain access to their premises. They are aiming proactively to address the situation in the worst affected areas by gathering lists of flooded homes from the local council and deploying engineers to check and repair faults as quickly as possible.

It is for this reason that BT Openreach's MBORC (Matters Beyond Our Reasonable Control) remains in place for the following locations and surrounding areas: Reading, Maidenhead, Guildford, Basingstoke, Oxford, Shrewsbury and Hereford, Worcester, Gloucester, Swindon. Plus Lincoln, Barnsley and Sheffield from the June floods in the north of England. The following specific towns are also covered by MBORC: Aylesbury, Abingdon, Bicester, Witney.

We would like to kindly request that where possible, customers in flood-affected areas refrain from raising connectivity or performance issues until the flood conditions in their area have subsided.

Kind Regards,

Bob Pullen
