FTP & Homepages Access(49419) - UPDATE
Web Space & FTP
Posted on: Friday 18 January 2008, 15:47
This is an update to the previously reported problem preventing some customers from being able to access their hosted websites, or connect to our FTP servers. A copy of the previous announcement can be found here:-
http://usertools.plus.net/status/archive/1200657614.htm
Our network engineers have continued investigation on the failed volume and have now been able to restore the file structure. This now means that it may be possible for us to restore all customers' website content back into their directories. Before we do this we are going to migrate the data over to the new, more resilient storage we announced in a planned maintenance post earlier in the week:- http://usertools.plus.net/status/archive/1200407757.htm
Once the data has been migrated to the new storage we will start the process of restoring this to customers' directories and this is expected to complete over the weekend.
Please note that if your site has not yet been restored there is still the possibility that we will be able to restore this over the weekend. Customers whose websites have not yet been restored are free to upload a local copy of their site, however those choosing to do this should be aware that anything they upload now will be overwritten once their site is restored.
Customers who are still missing raw weblogs will unfortunately not have these restored and they will not now be generated for the missing days.
We would like to offer our apologies for the inconvenience caused by this problem and will provide further details regarding our progress as they become available.
Kind Regards,
Chris Parr
