Maintenance Window:-
Friday 15th February 3.00pm-Tuesday 19th February 6.00pm

Service Affected:-
Email.

Duration of expected customer impact:-
No negative customer impact is expected.

Detailed description of work to be performed:-
We will be continuing to migrate customers' accounts to the new Postini anti-spam platform. Most customers have already been moved across to the new system with minimal disruption to their service. This work will be conducted across a two-day period and involves the migration of approximately 14,000 accounts.

In addition to this we will also be changing the spam settings for customers who have the option enabled to automatically delete messages at the server. Instead, spam email will be delivered to a 'Spam' folder on these customers' accounts:-

Customers can change this back to their previous setting once the work has been completed. This precaution is being taken to minimize the potential for customers to lose emails that may be incorrectly identified as spam.

Expected customer impact:-
The only change that you should notice is a visible reduction in the volume of junk email that gets delivered to your mailbox and improved spam detection rates. It can take up to 7 days after migration before the full benefits of the new system are seen.

Other Notes:-
When a customer is moved to the Postini anti-spam platform their mail records are changed to point to Postini instead of our mail servers. As this is a DNS change it can take 24-48 hours before the changes have fully propagated across the rest of the Internet.
Hosted domains can take longer to update (up to 7 days).
One trick used by spammers involves them sending email directly to the old mail servers. This bypasses the Postini checking so we need to block attempts to do this after migrating each customer. This block is applied 7 days after migration at which point customers may notice a further improvement in the performance of the spam filter.

We're confident that you will welcome this improvement however if you do have any concerns, questions or feedback then please feel free to visit our discussion forums where we'll be happy to address your enquiry -
