Planned Load Balancer Maintenance - Monday 17th March 4:00am-6:00am - UPDATE
Internet Connectivity
Posted on: Thursday 13 March 2008, 12:58
Maintenance Window:-
Monday 17th March 4:00am-6:00am.
Service Affected:-
Domain Name Resolution.
Duration of expected customer impact:-
Approximately 5 minutes.
Detailed description of work to be performed:-
We will be making some configuration changes to allow traffic destined for our authoritative DNS servers to be routed via new load balancer equipment. This work is a prerequisite for the future deployment of new server equipment.
Expected customer impact:-
There will be a period of approximately 5 minutes during which time our authoritative DNS servers will be unreachable. This should have minimum impact on customers as all DNS requests should be handled by a user's caching servers. For this 5 minute period, there is a very slim possibility of timeouts or DNS lookup problems when trying to access any PlusNet services.
Other Notes:-
This announcement supercedes an earlier posting that should be disregarded as it contains inaccurate timings:-
