This is an update to the previously reported problem preventing access to our news servers. A copy of the last announcement can be seen here:-

We believe that we have now arrived at a long term fix that will restore Usenet access for all customers as long as they are connecting to the service from within the PlusNet network.

We hope to have this fix rolled out early next week.

Unfortunately allowing authenticated access from a non-PlusNet connection is still not possible. We are currently discussing a longer term decision for this aspect of the service and will provide further details as they become available.
