Data Centre Outage (56812) - UPDATE

This is a further update to the problems we have been experiencing following the outage at one of our data centres earlier this morning.

Shortly after the initial outage we identified a problem with our traffic management switches whereby broadband customers connecting to the Internet may not have been assigned the right traffic management 'profile'.

This problem was evident between 7.00am and 11.00am. If you established a connection to the Internet between these times then you may find that your speeds are slower than they should be, especially where lower priority Internet activities are concerned (like peer-to-peer file sharing and binary Usenet downloads).

Our network engineers have now resolved the problem but those who connected between 7.00am and 11.00am may need to reboot their modem or router to ensure they are assigned the correct connection profile.

We will provide further updates concerning this morning's data centre outage as they become available.

Kind Regards,
