Broadband Network Capacity - NEW
Broadband Network Capacity
Posted on: Monday 22 June 2009, 16:16
We have three different 'settings' for our automated network management solution according to the conditions the network is under - Plan A (normal operation), plan B (high demand operation) and Plan C (disaster situation).
In response to a problem we experienced over the weekend with one of our broadband gateways, we have taken the decision to switch to Plan B (high demand operation).
In addition to today's problems, we also anticipate that there will be an increase in overall traffic across the network due to a number of up-and-coming events. Yesterday we saw the highest ever iPlayer traffic across our network, and Wimbledon also started today.
You can see more information about how we manage our network under abnormal load here - http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/quality_broadband/load.shtml

Chris Parr
