Broadband Network Capacity (108571) - NEW
Broadband Network Capacity
Posted on: Friday 3 July 2009, 15:10
We have three different 'settings' for our automated network management solution according to the conditions the network is under - Plan A (normal operation), Plan B (high demand operation) and Plan C (disaster situation).
In response to the large amounts of iPlayer traffic we're seeing on the network at the moment due to the tennis, we are setting the network capacity to 'Amber'.
We've seen record amounts of iPlayer traffic today and this may be causing other Internet activities to run slower than normal.
It's anticipated that we'll be able to get back to normal operation once the tennis has finished this evening.
You can see more information about how we manage our network under abnormal load here - http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/quality_broadband/load.shtml
