Access to Frontpage servers (57821) - UPDATE
Web Space & FTP
Posted on: Friday 11 September 2009, 16:56
This is an update to last week's post about access to our FrontPage hosting platform.
Publishing and editing access to the servers is still disabled, although customers websites are still visible via HTTP.
After a careful review of the platform we have made the decision to discontinue support for FrontPage and decommission the FrontPage web servers. Further details surrounding this decision will be emailed to FrontPage customers over the next few days and an FAQ can be seen over on our Community Site - http://community.plus.net/frontpage-decommissioning-faq-11th-september-2009/
You need to ensure that you have transferred your website to an alternative location before October 15th, which is the provisional date on which we'll turn the service off.
Due to way FrontPage works you will probably already have a locally stored copy of your website. If you don't, and you need access to the FrontPage servers to download a copy of your website, then this can be arranged on an individual basis by following the instructions contained in the FAQ linked to above.
We hope that you can understand the reasoning behind our decision, however if you have any concerns about this announcement then please feel free to raise them over on our Community Site forums where we'll do our best to assist -
