Planned Router Maintenance - Thursday 3rd December 9.00am-5.00pm
ADSL Dial
Posted on: Wednesday 2 December 2009, 17:55
When's this work happening?
Tomorrow, 3rd December.
What does it affect?
Some of the Cisco routers on our core network.
How long will it take?
We'll have an engineer on site all day.
What does the work involve?
As part of the investigation into the recent network performance problems, one of the contributing factors was found to be low-level packet loss across some of our core gateways. To help resolve this problem we will be upgrading the line cards in these devices.
Is it likely to cause problems?
No, it shouldn't do. We'll do one router first and monitor the network for signs of problems before proceeding to make the same changes on the second device.
Is there anything else I need to know?
The work is being carried out on ptn-gw01 and ptn-gw02.
Kind Regards,
Bob Pullen
