Data Centre Outage (62178) - UPDATE

Services

Posted on: Thursday 3 June 2010, 12:15

This is an update to this morning's post about the problems we've been experiencing at one of our Sheffield data centres.

The issues arose shortly after a hardware failure that affected one of our core routers.

Replacement hardware has since arrived on site and our engineers have been working all morning to fix the residual problems that have arisen.

You can see a more detail summary of the this morning's events over on our website - http://www.plus.net/support/service/problems/problem.php?intProblemId=62178

We are continuing to work on the fixes for the following problems:

* Recent broadband usage missing from the broadband usage tool on our website.
* Missing customer webstats for yesterday.
* Slow access to our Community Discussion Forums (although a temporary fix has now been put in place that we hope will improve the situation).

Since the last announcement we have also been made aware of:

* Problems logging into our Webmail service.
* Significant delays in the arrival of inbound email for people using our spam filtering service (although we are starting to see the mail queues come down).

Our network engineers are continuing to investigate the problems and another update will be posted later today.

Please accept our apologies for the continued inconvenience.

Kind Regards,

Bob Pullen
