We've received a further update about the MBORC notice (Matters Beyond Our Reasonable Control) raised by our suppliers on Friday the 15th June, affecting 15 areas across the UK.

The latest update from Openreach is as follows:

"In our last MBORC (Matters Beyond Our Reasonable Control) update to you on Tuesday 26 June, we were able to announce the lifting of MBORC in five locations thanks to some of the measures we have been taking to address the significantly elevated repair work stacks in some areas of the country.

These measures, coupled with a number of days of more settled weather in southern parts of the UK (whilst unfortunately others further north continue to suffer), have contributed to a reduction of faults in a further number of areas where MBORC has been in place to date.

We are pleased to announce that we have now been able to remove MBORC on four more of the ten remaining impacted areas, namely:-

Exeter
Reading
Aylesbury
Bournemouth

MBORC will remain in place in six areas:

Brighton
Tunbridge Wells
Portsmouth
Maidenhead
Truro
Peterborough

In these remaining locations, repair volumes remain high and as such we will continue to apply MBORC, however, please be assured we are doing everything in our power to bring down volumes.

We are constantly monitoring the weather situation with reference to our existing work stacks and predicted intake so we can continue making inroads into the fault volumes in remaining MBORC areas and limit the impact of predicted further wet weather. "

As soon as any further information is available we'll let you know.
