Regional Repair Delays - UPDATE

Broadband

This is an update to the previous post regarding MBORC (Matters Beyond Our Reasonable Control) declarations from BT Openreach.

"Parts of the UK, in particular Scotland, were hit by severe storm conditions over the weekend of 10 and 11 January and continuing over the week, including strong wind and heavy snow. This seriously impacted OpenreachÂ’s infrastructure, both above and below ground, with fault intake in these areas at extremely high levels. The adverse conditions also seriously impacted transport in Scotland.

Openreach therefore declared MBORC for repair activities, in two areas on 14 January 2015.

We have been directing extensive additional resource into these areas to bring the position back to normal as quickly as possible and were able to remove MBORC from one area on Monday 26 January 2015.

We are now able to lift MBORC from the areas detailed below:

Central Scotland
South West Scotland

MBORC remains in place in the following areas
Highlands and Islands

We are continuing to direct available additional resource into these areas to bring the position back to normal as quickly as possible and will be monitoring the situation and will remove MBORC as soon as service can be restored to the levels they were at immediately before the severe weather."

We'll continue to post further updates as they become available.

Kind regards,
